SelectionMentor selection is a crucial step for administrators to consider.
In order for administrators to effectively support the mentor/mentee relationship, they must choose the right people. The document to the right provides examples of interview questions an administrator might consider when hiring or selecting someone for the role of mentor (Aguilar, 2013). Areas for Consideration: • Consider same grade teachers • Consider proximity in the building • Consider the needs of the new teacher • Consider the strengths of the Mentor, do they complement the new teacher’s needs • Consider common interests (Hall & Marshall, 2006) |
